Marfs and Phelps

While watching the Olympics in New Hampshire, KB kept insisting that Phelps had Marfan Syndrome. She rattled off his symptoms such as having a longer wing-span than his height, double jointed shoulders and the gummy smile that a lot of Marfan people seem to have.

Well, last night I got this link from the Marfans e-mail chain that linked to this article.

Growing up in Baltimore Phelps apparently got checked by doctors at John Hopkins. John Hopkins actually hosted the first National Marfan Conference (like the one in Boston this summer) back in 1986. He definitely got checked out by some of the best Marfan doctors in the country!
