Phluck the Eagles

(Real Superfans Wear Black, vintage T-shirt from 2001. Backwards because I took it on my Mac)

Last night I went to a Providence vs. Boston College basketball game. We haven't played BC since they abandoned the Big East for the ACC. People from Providence usually hate BC for things like this:

"What do kids who go to BC and PC have in common?

They both got into PC."

So last nights booty-whipping was awesome! We were up over 20 points at half time, but in true Friar fashion, during the 2nd half we quickly lost our lead. BC caught up and was even 7 point ahead at one point. We tied it up and put the game into over time.

Once OT started, the Friars flew out of the gate, getting rebounds, turnovers and basket after basket. We ended up winning the game 98-89.

I had my t-shirt from the Big East Championship from 2001 which declared that REAL Super Fans wear black. The undergrads had t-shirts that read "Phluck the Eagles." I think the t-shirts brought the good ol' Friars some luck! Actually, Mike coming up from New Jersey I believe ALSO brought the Friars some luck.

Hopefully this type of game will continue for the rest of the Friar season!

Congrats on the big Friar win. Had a friend's birthday, so I couldn't make it to the game, but sounds like it was a lot of fun to watch (and considerably nerve-wracking for both sides).

You planning on going down to Providence for the game against the Hoyas?

Does a t-shirt from 2001 REALLY qualify as vintage?

random Mac tip: if you took the photo with the Photobooth application, you can go to the Edit menu and "flip" the photo. And for future photos you can select "Auto flip new photos." Enjoy.

Just to clarify this was the second time we beat BC since they left the Big East. Last year on Thanksgiving Eve the Friars put a hurting on them at the Dunk.

BC is now 0-4 against the Big East since leaving the best basketball conference in the country, including two losses which ended their seasons.
