I find it annoying when parents write notes to me and refer to me (without students present) as Miss Sweeney. I feel students call me Miss Sweeney to distinguish respect and establish that I'm not their friend Kate, but their teacher.
With parents, I am a fellow adult. You can write a note to me as "Kate" because I sign all notes as just that. You can call me Kate when you see me because I am not YOUR teacher, but your son or daughters.
Chrissy on the other hand signs everything "Miss Ferrier" and doesn't mind when parents refer her to as so.
So To Miss or Not to Miss, that IS the question.

hahaha....too funny. I am on your side. I hate when a 45 year old woman calls me "Mr. Delery." It makes me look for my Dad...lol
