How I Met Your Mother

I only started watching How I Met Your Mother because it was on before Heroes. Just reading the title, I was quick to think "Ah, another comedy that will soon be cancelled."

But this show is fun-ny! I mean, laugh-out-loud-even-when-I'm-alone, funny.

The story is narrated by an older version of the lead character, Ted. Think a current day Wonder Years. Ted is telling his children the story of how he met their mother. Their mother has yet to actually make it into the show's third season so it'll be interesting to see when she finally arrives! The show has an interesting plot, is written well and has a hilariously dry sense of humor to it.

Ted mostly ponders his love life and is continuously looking for "the one". The supporting characters give great comedy to the show, especially Neil Patrick Harris' character Barney. His character is awesome and one of the funniest characters currently on television. It's great that Doogie finally came back to television in a great series.

Ted's other two friends are Lily and Marshall. They have been dating since college and are a hilarious duo. Lily totally wears the pants in the relationship but their relationship chemistry makes for great comedy TV. (Marshall is played by Jason Segel, who is hilarious in Knocked Up.)

It's a great show for everyone to watch!

Funny Barney Quotes:
Barney: Ted, tonight we're gonna go out. We're gonna meet some ladies, it's gonna be *legendary*. Phone-five!
[slaps cell-phone]
Barney: You didn't phone-five, did you?
[pause]
Barney: I know when you don't phone-five Ted.

Barney: Snow-suit up!

Barney: It's going to be legendary!
Ted: Don't say that! You're too liberal with the word "legendary".
[flashback to Barney standing at Ted's door in snow gear with a shovel]
Barney: We're building an igloo in Central Park! It's going to be legendary! Snow-suit up!

I love it too. We're right in the middle of series one right now.
