A little over a month ago I went to CVS to buy some hair gel. The gel I use was on clearance so I bought a few. I asked the sale clerk why it was on clearance and she said it could be discontinued or they could be changing the packaging. I opted to believe the latter.
Since that was awhile ago, and I had stocked up on it, I didn't venture out to buy gel until this morning. This time it was a trip to Brooks. As I walked up to the hair gel aisle I couldn't help but notice this gaping hole amongst the neatly lined gels. The gaping hole was where all the L'Oreal products USE to be! They didn't have ANY L'Oreal products!! I stood their stunned for a few minutes. See, the thing is this isn't the first time a product has been discontinued on me.
In my early college years I use to wear Abercrombie jeans because they came in various lengths, as men's jeans do. One of the lengths was 36inches, the exact size my lengthy legs needed. Within a year or so they stopped making these jeans.
Then semi-recently I discovered Joe's Jeans, more specifically the Twiggy. Ahh, they fit, they were stylish AND long enough. Well, the next time I went to purchase a pair I became aware that they were no longer made.
So basically, I have bad luck when it comes to things I love. I had to invest in another gel, we'll see how it turns out.
Update: As I was trying to link to my L'Oreal gel I discovered this message:
"Can't find your favorite Studio product? Studio Line just got even better with more advanced formulas and a bold new look. Our helpful product finder helps you find your favorite products."
My product use to be called Lasting curls in a white bottle. It is now called Tightly Wound Curl Boosting in a fancy black bottle. That's a really long name for a gel. Now I just have to find where it's sold!

The one of us who has curly hair (this person will not allow me to name him. I mean, maybe her.) now uses Be Curly products by Aveda and loves them. Just in case L'Oreal ever really does disappear!
That's funny, when I got my hair cut this week, at an Aveda salon, they were trying to get me to buy that stuff! Maybe I'll have to try it!
