I'm a Fan Of...

I'm a fan of Black Ink in Harvard Square. I love this store!

It has a ton of creative, quirky and interesting things. It's a great store to wander around on a rainy day or the prefect place to find a gift. I got my brother-in-law Joe the perfect gift there for Christmas: a 50 card set of historical walks through New York City. One side has a map with the walk highlighted and the reverse side gives historical facts about the buildings or streets you tour.

I can't wait till people start having babies (well, actually I can) because they have really cute baby bowls, cups and unique ABC books. They carry a wide variety of useless but fun items on their tall shelves including: Hello Kitty lunchboxes, rubber peanuts, squiggly sushi plates, banana-shaped doorstops, monster pencil toppers, smiley tooth brush covers and many things that seem to be very Japanese or Korean.

I particularly love their cards. I use to make my own cards (but have gotten away from it with the whole adult-life things) and love their artsy and randomly-funny cards. My favorite being a recent Valentine's card I saw: a young couple sharing an i-pod headset with the caption "i-love."

If you're ever in the area I suggest stopping by! You will be highly entertained!
