RENT

RENT will be in Boston this week. I volunteered for the Massachusetts NMF Chapter to collect donations after the other nights performance. Anthony Rapp is touring with the show; he was in the original production and was a close friend of Jonathan Larson.

Jonathan Larson, who wrote the play, died from an aortic disection right before the show made it's broadway debut. It is thought that had he been diagnosed with Marfan's before his death, he might have survived and be with us today.

It was great to be part of the event. I felt a bit like the close of It's a Wonderful Life with my little bucket of cash. We made almost $1300 in one night! And the chapter was going to be present at 14 shows! It was a bit overwhelming how much money people were putting in my bucket. To be honest I got a little choked up! One guy, who must know a little bit about Marfan's said to me, "They should have someone tall collecting donations." Wahh-wahh-wahhhhh.

A few of the volunteer's and I were able to meet some of the cast, including Anthony Rapp! It was nice to meet him and he was very gracious.
Keep in mind, I'm six feet tall! The 17 year old makes me look like a shortie. But I might order her t-shirt (all historical people they think had Marfans):
Check out his PSA about Marfan's below.
