I'm on a Roof

Yesterday Andy invited me down to his new home in the Back Bay. It's crazy how grown-up we're all becoming: marriages, babies and so many of us are home owners!! I wish I had pictures to share, but my new trend seems to be forgetting my camera.

The walk to Andy's was beautiful. I forget how much I love the Back Bay/South End and all the great little restaurants along Tremont. Andy has a super location right around the corner from The Beehive. His place is super cute and has a great kitchen! The highlight of his place is his roof deck! It was enormous and the previous owners left behind their grill! The view of the city is amazing and the weather was so beautiful we hung out and enjoyed our lunch outside.

While sitting on the roof deck you can look around and admire the other decks: some are decorated beautifully. On a much higher roof a man came out, I glanced up and he waved at me. Andy said, "Who are you waving at?" I said, "I don't know! That guy over there waved!" Andy responded, "Oh yea, owning a roof deck is like owning a boat: everyone waves at each other." How great is that!?

Andy ended up driving me home because he had to do an errand in my hood. As we're going down the Pike Andy is explaining to me how he recently got out of two speeding tickets. As we pull off the highway to the toll gate, Andy breezes through the CASH ONLY lane without flinching. As he sped past the toll collector he yells, "HEY, OH!" as I said, "NOT THE FAST LANE!"

Andy slammed on his breaks, and as no one was behind him he backed up, apologized and paid the toll. We were both dying laughing as he said, "That just made the blog!"

Thanks for lunch and many laughs, Andrew!

The closest I ever came to dying was when Andy drove us to Logan in college. Still not sure how we missed that car.
