Umbrella-ella-ella

Today I went to Chesnut Hill Mall to get a gift card at Crate and Barrel. I don't usually go to this mall because it is small and has very expensive and uppity stores.

As I was walking by a store, I noticed a cute umbrella. My umbrella has been on its last leg, and with the current weather in New England I decided to stop in and check it out.

I browsed around and the sales girl asked if she could help. I said, "Sure, I wanted to check out how much that umbrella in the window is?"

She said, "I can't remember exactly. Let me check for you." She takes a few steps and calls over her shoulder, "It's from this amazing designer in London. It's a great umbrella."

Red Flag. Designer from London? Umbrella?

She checks the tag and announces, "OH yes, it's $165."

I literally laugh out loud and say, "Uh yea, that's a bit out of my price range for an umbrella."

She shrugs. I walk out the door.

LOL! Was it a stripey Paul Smith umbrella? Because I had this exact experience about two months ago...

165 bucks - perhaps they figured they'd charge a dollar for every day it has rained in a row.
