Yesterday I ended up staying home from work with a fever. I have had a never ending cold/allergies for over two weeks now.
My doctor wasn't in so he was paged and after a few annoying phone calls from me, he finally called back. He said my symptoms sounded like I had a viral respiratory infection. He told me to get rest, drink plenty of fluids and come in if any of my symptoms get worse.
Later in the evening I googled viral respiratory infection. In laymen's terms: I have a cold.
Why couldn't he have just said that?! Why call is a viral infection? Why not say, "You sound like you have a bad cold, just sleep it off."
I'm just glad it wasn't swine flu.
UPDATE: The school nurse looked at my throat and suggested I go home. So I asked my boss and she said it was fine. I told my students the nurse called my Mom and she was going to pick me up. haha
On another funny note, I really didn't feel well this morning and felt lazy so I didn't put any make-up on. People were like, "Wow, you do look really sick!" I'm wondering if it was the flu or lack of beauty products!
