Hurricane-
Shmuricane,
Hannah couldn't hold back the Third Annual Cape Olympics!
The weekend had a tough start for Andy and I. I called KB to confirm the directions as I've been there a bunch of times. KB miss heard me (OR wasn't listening to me) and she confirmed the wrong directions. Andy and I realized this as we passed a "Newport, RI.... 20 miles" sign. Luckily we weren't THAT far off course, but it was still slightly frustrating. Good thing Andy is such a positive person, he cheered me up by saying "Maybe you saved our life! There could have been a major accident on the other highway that we missed."

Team Long Cut
Once we finally arrived, we were greeted by a
Tiki Dance from KB.

As well as the return of Jen and Will from China! Will kept with the whole Olympic theme by supporting his Polish roots. He also grilled us up some amazing turkey burgers!

The festivities continued on even though we were missing some key players: Chrissy had a
bachelorette party, Elena has family in town and Kevin was sick.

Part of the tradition of Cape Olympics is a favor of sorts. This year KB awarded us all with our own CO 08 Gold Medals!

(Yeah, we're weird just go with it!)

Along with the opening ceremonies, flip cup has also become a tradition. This year we played girls vs. boys.

Team
WAP (Women Against
Palin) dominated the first round.

But then the boys came back once we started survivor flip cup. KB tried to intimidate them with her Phelps warm up:

But they weren't too rattled.

We also did a LOT of eating. Pete earned major points in my book since he brought
Cannolis knowing that I loved them!

Even though the weather was a little rainy on Saturday, the crew still braved the bay to continue the tradition of "living off the land."

Will upped the ante by also catching what we initially thought was a flounder, but later discovered was a
Fluke...

which he also filleted himself!

My camera died so unfortunately I was not able to document my mad-
Rock Band-
Wii skills. Dan, Will, Jon, Marc and I formed a band we called The Flounders. I was slightly obsessed with the drum kit: it was so much fun!
I did however catch a picture of the beautiful morning on my camera phone:

The weekend was great as always! More pictures are posted under My Pictures to the right. It was good to see the crew and enjoy the last weekend of summer before school really starts tomorrow!
