Sex and the Bean Town

DODO dooo DO DO DO dooo (my attempt at typing the Sex and the City opening music)

Last night the "girls" (minus the out of town members CJ, Cristin and Theresa!) went to see Sex and the City. KB has been dying to go, and last night was the first night we could get all of us together to see it! Like most girls in their 20's, we took the opportunity to dress up fancy and then get a few drinks! The girls and I decided that we should wear dresses more often. We were whistled at and were referred to as a parade of hot girls!

Elena tried to be economical and get the large popcorn and large soda. I think the tub of popcorn is bigger than her apartment. My reaction? "And we wonder why America has a weight problem??"After the movie we went to La Verdad for some margarita's and Mexican food. Being on Landsdowne Street provided us some great people watching: lots of interesting bachelorette parties and drunken college girls walking by. KB and I met two girls in the bathroom who asked us "How old do you have to be to get into Jillian's?" KB and I both just looked at them blankly, then Elena interjected from her stall "I think after 9 it's 21." Afterwards KB and I agreed we hadn't been made to feel that old in a long, long time!
(for some reason my flash wouldn't work on my camera)

So now onto the movie itself. Chrissy sat in between KB and I and said "If one of you wasn't crying, the other was!" The movie was incredibly sad!! But I loved it. I read an article that said that the movie was for fans of the show and not necessarily new comers. I could see that being true. I loved little cameos made by things such as Carrie's tutu and her old school rotary phone. I loved that all the secondary characters made appearances and I liked the development each character made in their lives. The movie ran the course of a year and I liked where they went with the plot and the ending. I won't go into too much more as not to spoil it for anyone. But if you're a fan of the show it is worth seeing!

Now we can't wait for it to come out on DVD so we can watch that as much as we've watched each season!

On a similar note, when Rambo came out I saw it with a bandanna and an artillery belt. Didn't get any cat calls for some reason, even if they were well deserved.

"Any of you boys want to shoot, now's the time. There isn't one of us that doesn't want to be someplace else. But this is what we do, who we are. Live for nothing, or die for something. Your call. " - John Rambo
