Live from New York

After having a number of break-up-pow-wows with a number of intelligent girls, I have decided to submit a skit to Saturday Night Live.

I'm working on the title and a few details, but it will be something like "Damn, she was nice."

The scene: two late-20 guys (dudes if you will) sitting around their apartment drinking beers.

Dude One: Hey man, I heard you and Katrina broke up? What happened, dude?
Dude Two: It just didn't work out.
D1 But she seemed so perfect for you! Things seemed to be going so well.
D2: Yeah I know but.... well... um, she was nice.
D1: OH MAN! I had no idea! I mean she seemed funny and friendly, but I had no idea she was nice!
D2: Yea, like really nice. Like considerate and thoughtful.
D1: Dude, I'm so sorry. I dated someone like that once. Sometimes she'd even put me before herself.
D2: (Shakes his head) Yeah, that wasn't all though. She was also.... smart. Like she beat me at Cash Cab all the time! And she knew a lot about a lot of things, like politics. And her jokes were witty.
D2: Did she have opinions about global issues and stuff?
D1: (Swigging his beer) Yup!
D1: (Slapping him on the shoulder) I'm sorry man. I had no idea things were that bad.
D2: (Shrugging) Yeah, you know what they say. There are other fish in the sea.
D1: (Clinking of beers) I'll drink to that!

--end scene--

I'm working out the ending. But I think I'm onto something. I know I definitely have an audience. If SNL doesn't work out, perhaps I can make a short film and have it at the end of the Sex and the City movie.

This is a great idea! You are so clever--I found your skit very entertaining and amusing and think it would be great for SNL! You are a great writer--I always enjoy reading your blog so I think the masses would enjoy your commentary as well.
