Book Worm

I'm making progress with my reading list for the summer. I finished Willful Creatures by Aimee Bender. It's a collection of creative short stories, but be warned: some of them are really screwed up! All of them were really interesting and engaging, good brain food. This was the second book of short stories she has written so I might check out her first which was entitled The Girl in the Flammable Skirt.

I started reading The Memory Keepers Daughter. I believe Beth abandoned reading it and I think I might as well. There is WAY to much detail and it's progressing very slowly for me. I might keep at it because I've heard great things but its a little monotonous to read at the moment.

Oh yes, I put that one down about mid-way through. Once I realised that things really weren't going to happen any time soon I just couldn't go on.

it sucked, i finished it and it was not worth the time.

however, Born on a Blue Day, autobirography of autistic savant was great for the interesting special ed info for school without feeling like you are reading a book for school!

and of course you have to read the Other Bolyen Sister before the movie comes out this fall! Great for the beach (or couch :))

thanks for the info! I was just recently thinking "What's Cristin been? She hasn't commented on the blog!" Glad you're back!

Oh, and The Bolyen Inheritance too. Great books! Anything by Phillipa Gregory, actually.

Yeah I couldn't finish the memory keepers daughter either - I read about 100 pages and said no more.
