I often think about how many things are different in the profession of teaching. One thought I had today was during a meeting. The meeting was during school hours. For the meeting I was given a substitute.
In no other profession do people go to a meeting and:
1. Have to jot down a note as to what they would be doing if the meeting was not going on
2. Explain the note to another person
3. Have that person take over your job (and do a mediocre job)
4. Return to find their job not done correctly and have to pick up the pieces.
