Happy Hanukkah

Happy Hanukkah
Today in school we discussed the basics of the holiday. And SINCE I teach kindergarten we made Hanukkah Headbands! What is a Hanukkah Headband you ask? Well, we used strips of blue construction paper and glued 9 paper candles to them: each with a little paper flame. Just picture 18 5 year-olds with a Menorah on their head! (I tried to bring my camera to provide ya'all with a visual but my batteries died. )

Anyway, those of you celebrating Hanukkah: have a good night!

maybe i can steal your ideas- do you mind writing down what you do everyday??

and..a little tid bit that will be included in my yet to be published book about things kids say.. i was told today by one of my little boys that he enjoys doing karate. He really likes to do it naked but his mom told him it bothers his sister. now he has to do it with pants on but its okay if he doesnt want to wear a shirt.
he doesnt like it as much anymore

You are so creative! I helped make a construction paper driedel and that turned out to be a disaster! Would love to see those pics!! See you TOMORROW!!!!!

Eight? Wow! Here in Israel, the nursery school trend seems to be one candle per headband. I'll be able to provide a more accurate report after tomorrow night, following our foray into the world of nursery school Hanukah parties.

Nice blog! Tell Beth I say hi. :-)
